Shenanigans a la Libby

  1. As noted in a previous posting, we have been biking quite a bit lately. As a result, we get to see a lot more things we wouldn't get to see from a car.

For instance, we have seen a lot of goslings running around. Katie, riding, says "Libby, look! Do you see all the little baby geese? All the goslings?" Libby: "Gobble-ings?"

Ever since, she has called the little baby geese "gobble-ings." It is so dang cute.
  2. We took the kids swimming at the Downtown YMCA last Saturday and practiced some floating and what-not with the kids. Libby kept climbing in and out of the kiddie pool, and as she was standing on the edge was fiddling with something. Katie couldn't figure out what she was doing. Unbeknownst to her, Libby's swimsuit was riding up her backside and she kept trying to extract it. When Katie asked what Libby was doing, she shouted, "I having ISSUES!"
  3. We went for a bike ride one evening, and found a lovely foot-only nature path along the way. We got out and as we walked and marveled at this little piece of heaven, Ethan managed to keep getting a rock in his shoe. So, naturally, we stopped each time to help him get it out.

Before too long it was time to head home and get the kids in bed. Libby was bringing up the rear and kept stopping so she could get a rock out of her shoe. So, we waited. When we got close to our bikes, I noticed Libby was lagging behind again. I turned to look and saw that she had one shoe off, was grabbing a mighty handful of rocks from the trail, putting it into her shoe, and trying to put her now half-full-of-rocks shoe back on her foot and, when asked what she was doing, exclaimed "I have a rock in my shoe!"
