So I am ashamed to admit it but I have lived in Idaho for most of the last 15 years and I have never been to Shoshone Falls. Many more years would probably have passed without me going but by a stroke of luck our good friends Spencer and Whitney moved to Twin. Spencer needed some computer work done for his new Chiropractic office so we loaded the whole family and went on a mini road trip. On a side note it may be time to get rid of our little Subaru and do what I never want to do; buy a minivan. Back to the story, Michael spent the morning working on computers and Whitney and I spent the morning letting the six kids play. Our "eldests" are only a week apart, our middle children a year apart, and the babies are six weeks apart. Late afternoon the husbands came home and we ran out to a sweets shop that served something called volcanoes. Our son found a new reason for life.
After that we rushed off to see Shoshone Falls. The day we were there happened to be a day that the falls were going in full force. It was an awesome display that made me nervous beyond all measure. I carried Grace and made sure Michael was clutching both Ethan's and Libby's hands. My logical mind realized the danger was minimal. But the still slightly postpartum mother in me saw death and doom everywhere. Despite my fears it was a fun outing. We were even lucky enough to have Michael's sister Kristal and her husband Tom go with us. The kids were in heaven. In there young innocence the best thing about the falls was not the falls themselves but the big hills, hills just meant to run down at top speed (oddly this didn't make me the least nervous).
