Maui

Day Two of Hawaii found us in Maui. We watched the beautiful sunrise, grabbed our purses, hats, snorkel gear, and reef safe sunblock. We were ready for our next adventure.

We started by walking to the bus stop, taking the bus to the airport shuttle, then getting on the shuttle that took us to the car rental counter. 45 minutes are we got off the ship, we were driving around the island.

Becca had found a beach called Charlie Allen that was fantastic. It was a smaller beach, and therefore less crowded.

The sand felt like sugar, and we could snorkel right at the tide line. This is when we discovered that snorkeling made Alexis very, very nervous. She did persist and spent a good ten minutes snorkeling, before deciding there were other things to do. I enjoyed snorkeling until the waves started pushing me closer to the rocks. I was trying to swim backwards, as I didn't want to disturb the sea life. Alas, the waves won and I ended up stepping on a sea urchin. The urchin was fine, but left me with a throbbing toe. The purple dots eventually faded, my toe is still attached, and I did not gain superpowers.

We spent the rest of the morning enjoying the warm ocean and velvet sand.

We did eventually get hungry, so we headed out looking for food.

We had to grab some shave ice, as we were in Hawaii. It was soft as snow.

Apparently, the chicken also gets hungry. We did not feed this chicken, or any other, despite their cuteness.

After swimming and eating, we did a little bit of shopping in an outdoor market.
It was a beautiful area.

There were beautiful koi,
and lots, and lots of
chickens.

We smuggled a couple fluffy guys home with us. But we did not feed them. We are good tourists.
