Going to Vegas was going to be a quick trip, so we had a lot to do on our last day.
We started out at a bird sanctuary, were we saw lots of gorgeous birds and got assaulted by the wind. I was the only one who was really invested in the experience, so we didn't stay long.
It was also a monarch stopping area, but we were a little early in the season. We still got some fun photos, though.
After lunch we headed to walk the Strip. We started at Circus, Circus. Everyone played a few games, won a stuffed animal and watched a hula hoop show.
Michael even won a little stuffed giraffe for me. Unfortunately, it fell out of my pocket, but I hope she's making someone happy, somewhere.
We then started walking along the strip, and realized we were hot, tired, windblown, and in the boring area. So we turned around and started heading back. I saw a Pink Donut store a block off the strip and we made a detour, only to find it closed for remodeling.
So we took a couple of pictures and headed back to our car, where we got lost. We ended up in a back alley with no garage access. Sam decided to parkour himself into the parking garage, at which he was successful, but it was the wrong garage and he couldn't go back the way he had come. Meanwhile, the rest of us had managed to get into the correct garage, so we shouted at Sam to head to the main entrance, so we could drive out and pick him up.
Once we were all reunited we started heading over the MeowWolf's OmegaMart experience. By the time we got there, Michael and I were not using our kind words due to traffic and general stress, so we sent the kids in without us. The good news is that they had a ton of fun, and Michael and I were able to take a deep breath and talk like grown-ups again.
We stopped by Costco and fed everyone hot dogs and pizza and whatever else they could buy in the food court, after which everyone turned in for the night. Ethan and I decided that we needed to gamble before leaving Vegas so we each grabbed twenty dollars and headed out. Ethan finished the night broke and I had $16 dollars left, so I counted it as a win.
