As some of you may of noticed Michael and I haven't really been posting for the last three months. That my dear friends is because I have been sicker then a dog. At first we thought I was pregnant but then I started spotting so we figured things weren't going well. And we were right. Our midwife thought it was a simple miscarriage, so I took some pills that would convince my body to finally just miscarry. This whole time I was about three times as sick as I ever was with my other two children. So took the pills and did that whole thing (whole other story in itself) and expected to start feeling better. Two weeks later I was still so morning sick I was light headed from dehydration. Went to the doc-in-the-box and he gave me some drugs for my nausea, which worked for about a day. Went back to the midwife and she took a blood test. Called me the next day, my hCg (pregnancy hormones) were really, really high. Higher then with a normal pregnancy.
So I went to my OB. He did an ultra-sound and it was determined I had a molar pregnancy. I didn't know what it was either. Apparently there really never was a baby. Maybe for a second, but that's about all. Then my body kind of took over and went crazy. It made tons of extra placenta cells, so I had lots and lots of placenta material and other stuff. But never any baby.
My OB did a D&C at the hospital the next day to clean everything out and hopefully get my back to normal. That happened a week ago Thursday. Since then I have been able to eat and not puke, that is very exciting. I've also put back on some of the weight I lost when I was throwing up everything. I have to go in for blood tests every week until my hCg comes back down to zero. This may take a few months. There is also a chance that the molar pregnancy can start growing again before I reach that point. If that happens it starts to act like a cancer and then I will have to have a mild round of chemotherapy. I don't think that will happen though. But even if it does after everything is said and done I will still be able to have children. So that is the story. That is why we haven't really been posting.
I have been lying on the couch feeling like death and Michael has been working, going to school, and being Mr. Mom. But now I feel much, much, much better. So we may finally get Easter pictures posted. Love you all. And don't worry about me, I am doing very well.
