Love is in the Air

Valentine's Day was a lot of fun this year. We basically ignored it. We took our two kiddos and went to the zoo. The family of Spitney came with us (Spencer, Whitney, and their two kiddos Savannah and Addie for those of you not familiar with their pseudonym). It was a lot of fun. The kids ran everywhere together. Some of the animals in the zoo must have realized it was Valentine's Day though. The coatis were getting amorous. "Yep, Ethan. Those raccoon-looking things are playing. Let's go find the zebras." It was a truly educational experience.
You can't see anyone's face in this picture but it was the only one I managed to get all four of the kids in.
Ethan and his lady friend Savannah. When they came to the house after the zoo Savannah and Ethan had their arms around each others waists. Maybe this will be their first of many Valentine's Days together. A mother is allowed her little fantasies.
Another horrible picture. But if you look closely you can see all four of the babes are in the little plastic bubble, pretending to be a groundhog.

Rainy Weather

We have had a lot of snow lately and even some rain. Michael bikes to work regardless of such things - after all it is only four blocks. This is his rain gear. I laughed so hard I almost cried. I thought I would share the fun.

Makeup Lessons

It was quiet. Too quiet...

Sleep Over Fun

My sister Becca's kids have spent the night a few times over the last month. All the kids sleep in Ethan and Libby's room. They are allowed to sleep where they want. The arrangements always are good for a laugh.

Libby is the only one who doesn't have to share sleeping space. I think that is because she threatens any one who comes near her bed with physical violence. She doesn't share her sleeping space well.

The Sins of the Father (or something like that)

Our family was over having dinner with Michael's parent on Sunday. After dinner Con, Great-Grandma, Michael and I sat down to play UpWords (a game similar to Scrabble). Ethan wanted to play as well so I kept making little three letter words on my tile tray to sound out. I put S-I-N. After a few attempts Ethan blurted out "SIN". "It says sin." He turned around and looked me straight in the eye, in front of great-grandma and grandpa, and says "Am I a sin?"
