Libby's New Do

Ethan Rides with Kristin Armstrong

Ethan got to ride a lap in the 2009 Boise Twilight Criterium Kid's Ride. He had fun, though he was hot. When I asked him if he would like Kristin Armstrong to put her name on his ribbon, and he said, "Her name is already on there!" and wanted to go ride around. :P

Grace: "These people embarrass me."

Finally Posting the Fourth

We had a crazy busy fourth. In the morning we took the kids down to the Liberty Day parade. This is my favorite parade as it is very low key. It reminds me of the small town parades I remember from my distant youth. The kids love it because everyone throws candy.

At the end of the parade the firemen squirt the bystanders with the fire hose. I guess there were complaints so this year they held the hose up in the middle of the street and hollered, "If you want to get wet, get in the street." So it was like a giant sprinkler. It was very refreshing as it was starting to get hot.
We then picked up some fried chicken and other low calorie food and had a picnic at the park. By that time is was getting rather toasty so we all played in the fountain.
After everyone had a bit of a rest (supposed to be a nap, but that didn't happen) we ran out to a couple of BBq's. The second one was a family event at my sisters house. The beautiful model in the above picture is my neice Aubrey holding the family supply of poppers. They lasted less then a minute. We stayed there and lit off the fireworks with only one mild burn among all the children.

We left my sisters at about 11:00 and headed home (did I mention we rode our bikes to everything?). By the time we got home the kids had both fallen asleep on the bike of Michael's bike. The were both sitting up and completely asleep.

Who does she look like?

New parents hear it all the time. Who does she look like? And then if you have other kids it is which kid does she look like. Some families are easy. Each baby seems to be a clone of the last. But if I am honest I think most infants (including mine) are clones of each other. There are of course the exceptions, such as the baby born with 3 inches of black hair or big ol' pop eyes. But for the most part, they are born looking like little old men and change gradually from there. So I am lifting an idea from a woman at playgroup. I am posting pictures of all three of my babies without their names attached and you see if you can figure out who is who and who Grace looks most like. And to add to the fun, I've put baby pictures of both Michael and I in the mix. Good luck!
