This year we were a little more organized about our fair entries. We spent one week each summer learning new skills; skills that would result in a fair entry. Jelly-making and photography was fun, but sewing was an abject failure. When the fair rolled around we had a box full of entries! Alas, we were still getting the photos developed the day before entries were due.
Libby received a handful of ribbons as well. I think she won the most blue ribbons. She adored her sculpy turtle (barely visible behind the ribbons) and was very pleased that it won first place.
Sam was awfully pleased with his picture of dew on leaves. He also won first place for his Sculpy Perry the Platypus, perched on his shoulder.
Grace was the only kid whose jelly actually placed. She also won first place for her decorated cookies. She also won a few other assorted prizes, as well.
I made four entries myself and managed a blue ribbon for both my whole wheat bread and my gluten free cookies! As much fun as the rides, shows, and fair events are, I think the highlight is always seeing how our entries placed!
Here's a summary of everyone's ribbons:

I'm not sure why they didn't give you the blue ribbon for being the world's best mom. You deserve It!
