Sick Baby
Last Tuesday Grace developed a high fever that just wouldn't go away. She didn't have any other symptoms. She just had a high fever and had turned into a miserable ball of humanity. For days she just cuddled in a limp little ball on either Michael or I. Finally Friday came and she was still sick. This presented quite the problem as it was also the first day of Ethan and Libby's home school co-op (that they had been counting down the days to for the last two weeks). I also was supposed to teach a class of three year olds the first hour of co-op. Michael had worked to many hours the rest of week so he said he would be home by 10:30. I had to leave at 8:50. Thankfully my sister was able to cover the two hour difference. Michael came home and took Grace off to the Doctor. Three days of fever is my breaking point. The doctor said she probably had roseola. She would continue to have a fever until she broke out in a rash. Friday and Saturday passed in a haze of misery. Not only was Grace miserable during the day but she woke up every two hours at night screaming relentlessly. Sunday morning I gave her a bath in the sink and saw little red prickles all over her back. I have never been so happy to see a rash in my life. Since then things have been improving. Now I just need to convince her to sleep through the night again.
We also discovered at the dr's appointment that Grace is losing weight. I'm supposed to continue nursing her but also supplement with formula. She accepts the bottle much more gracefully from Michael then from me. Hopefully she will start pudging up soon.

Christmas
A few nights before Christmas the kids decided they were going to put on a nativity for the family. The were so serious about it. There were moments that Michael and I found it hard not to laugh. One of my favorite parts was when Libby had a baby doll stuffed up her shirt and they were on their way to Bethlehem. They couldn't find something to stand in for the donkey so Ethan told Libby to gallop. So Libby galloped to Bethlehem with a lumpy doll stuffed under her shirt. But they did a very good job telling the story all in all.
Christmas eve we hung the stockings with care.
Christmas morning came at about 7:00. I made the kids get dressed before coming out because we had to be to the Hobson celebration by 9:15. Grace was excluded from that requirement.
One of the few pictures we actually took. We took about a 1/2 dozen photos at home and then headed over the the Hobson's for breakfast and presents. We came home at one, had a nap and then headed over to my sister's for the Hawks Christmas dinner and gift exchange. We finally got home about nine o'clock at night. During all the time we didn't manage to take even one more photo. We did have fun but I was very glad when it was all done.
